I met my ex through a woman that I worked with (Who, in retrospect, turned out to be as much of a nutcase as my ex). So my ex and I fall "in love" and after about a year of dating, we're engaged.

At this point my soon-to-be husband had been living in the dorms on the military base an hour a way from my home. He promises that he would make the commute a little easier and move closer- even just a little(He doesn't have a car so I'm doing all the driving). So the time comes for him to find a new apartment and I find out that he completely disregards his originally promise and moves about 25 minutes the other direction. Great. We get into a fight, he tells me it's over. I spend the night miserable. The next morning I call him and we work out our issues- he then proceeds to tell me that he got mad at me and "closed" our wedding account (That he hadn't contributed a penny to) and that he left the money at the bank. Of course I find out later that he actually spent it in one night on god knows what. Like an idiot I forgive him and we continue to date....
Nine months later I drive to his apartment (still an hour and 25 minutes away) with red velvet cupcakes and plans for a romantic evening. I help myself in, he's cleaning the bathroom. I give him a big hug... and right as were having this nice moment I see the words "I want my first child to be yours." as an incoming test message. Long story short- He had been cheating on me with this chick for a while. I left heartbroken. The next week I get a death threat from the girl he cheated on me with telling me to leave him alone. I write her off as being crazy but call my ex to talk to him about it. We're talking again anf of course he says he loves me. A couple days later he "loses" his phone and is calling me from a friend's phone to tell me how he wants to work our relationship out and that he needs me. A week later I get a call from his family telling me that he was getting a restraining order against me for stalking him (really long drive to stalk someone), that he changed his number because he was afraid for his safety and that I was crazy. Two weeks later and totally not stalking him- I'm posting lovely new pictures of me and my new love interest. It's a win-win, I found someone better and he'll never have to worry about me "stalking" him again.

My boyfriend and I had been together 9 months. We'd known each other and been really in love for almost 2 years. I gave him absolutely all of me. We really were great together and always had fun and showed each other how much we were in love. He always told me how he wanted to marry me and how much he loved me. Everything was going great until one week he had phone issues. He never tried to contact me in any way. When he did get his phone back, he still didn't at least text me and say he'd call me later or anything. So after going from speaking everyday or just getting an "i love you" text from him, which was always enough for me and made me feel so amazing, he went to zero communication. Who wouldn't "freak out"? I tried contacting him and got nothing. Anyway, I went to see what was going on and he told me he wanted a break and started naming off all these silly previous fights that he had already apologized for and I had forgiven and moved on. He said how I ask too much of him, which he lives 2 hours away, and he had always been able to find time to call me or just text me each day, and if a day or two went by, I was okay with that because I do know how busy he really is. Anyway, after saying all that I had finally agreed to a break. I asked if he wanted to break up and he said no, just a break for a few weeks because he didn't have time for this.
A month has gone by and I had tried to contact him out of desperation for answers the first two weeks. I have not tried to contact him for the past 2 weeks and I will not. I sent him a pour my heart out, this is what really happened with all the silly fights, and do you really love me if you're throwing away what we had...and still heard no word.
It's the most painful thing in the world to go from "i love you I want to marry you baby" to not acknowledging my existence. We are both 21, so yes I know we're young, but he had been so genuine and he doesn't sugar coat anything, so I know if he didn't love me, he would have just said so...
I've been suffering from panic attacks my whole life, but had not had an issue with them again until all of this happened. It feels as if my world crashed down. I live alone, I'm in a new state where all I have is a job so this makes things even more difficult. I do have hobbies, but cannot pursue riding horses at this time because I live in an apartment and can't afford to board a horse in town.
I wake up every morning thinking about every good and horrible thing we've gone through. After what he's done to me, I hate him, but I love him at the same time. My heart races, my stomach turns, I feel nauseous all day long and cannot eat like I used to.
I tried not making him my whole life, but I guess I felt what we had was so real, I never had to worry about him not being there. This all makes me sound pathetic, I know it does and I hate feeling this weak.
How can you love someone so much one day, and want nothing to do with them the next? And no, nothing changed. He changed. I know there isn't anotherr girl because his roommate wants to date me and I'm sure to get me to date him, he would tell me if there was another girl.
So now what? How can I get over this? I've bought books about breakups that have helped me on the whole outlook of this about how if we were so perfect, this wouldn't have happened.
But still...
anyone have any words of advice or encouragement? Anything would help. Sorry this was so long.

So when i was a freshman i fell for the senior soccer star. He was gorgeous goood grades great smile, family guy and all around PERFECT. i obviously was smitten but ha so was his gf of a year. he failed to mention this everytime we hung out everytime we talked and when i brought it up he said that she just couldnt get over him, it was quite sad. the saddest part was he was my first and after we got done she called him and left a voicemail saying baby when your done mowing the lawn call me, i grabbed my clothes and bolted out of there. he tried calling texting everything for almost a month finally i gave in and he said that he didnt know if i really loved him and thats why he stayed with her. LAME right, then he tells me how hes leaving for college and when he gets back were hanging haa he never left, ya i sall pictures on fb of a party in the town we live in he denied them saying they were before he left. THen his still gf posts saying how she loves her marine boyfriend and thinks little girls need to get over him. well needless to say we got into it just to find out that he told her i was obsessed and that i wouldnt leave him alone, so i told her what i knew but she said that i was lying. ha they broke up not that long after and he got with another one of my friends.
he still trys to talk to me but funny thing is now looking back at it i wish i had given myself to someone who respected people more

In December of 2009, I started dating this guy. I was really in love with him, and I thought he loved me, too. At the end of the month, I found out he'd been cheating on me with some girl he met online. I decided to give him another chance because he had begged me, and I loved him. So, he tells me he's still cheating, and that he's sorry. I know it's stupid of me, but I gave him ANOTHER chance.

In March, right before my spring break, he tells me that he doesn't love me anymore and that I'm taking all his friends out of his life. I only said I was jealous because he was sleeping in the same bed as his ex girl friend who has a crush on him. (They weren't having sex.) I asked him to stop over a text message and he texted back saying he didn't love me anymore and that he was speaking from his heart.

While I was on vacation over spring break, I met a guy on YouTube, and we exchanged AIMs. On the last day of my vacation, this guy tells me that he's really my ex boyfriend and that he really still loves me, but he doesn't want to get back together.

We stayed apart for a few days after I returned from my vacation, and then he asked me out again. I said yes, because... I have quite the weak spot for him. He promises he loves me and I'm sure he's not cheating anymore, but the fact that he put me through that makes me cry all the time.

I met my ex through a friend- we had the most amazing relationship, I couldn't have loved him anymore if I'd tried. We moved in together a month into our relationship and it all went so well. Six months into our love fest he went away for 4 months to work as an extra on a mini series, he thought he was going to be a celeb after his debut, little did he know he was one of a hundred people playing the same role as him.

He came back a different person, totally different. I went from number one in his life to number?? I would never know.

It was pretty apparent that he was flirting with a handful of girls, I guess he was making sure that he had a back up for when he was done with me.

We ended up moving back in with each other when he got back. We found a gorgeous little place then a month into our move he came on our 2 year anniversary, a candle lit dinner awaited him with me standing in a sexy red dress, he didn't say a word. He grabbed his clothes looked at me and said "I just don't love you anymore".

He came back the next day saying it was a mistake so he moved back in, then a week later I woke to a letter with the words "I'm sorry I was right the first time"

For the month following he came in and out of contact with me- contacting our mutual friends and asking them to contact me to check up on me, contacting my old teachers, people that I really didn't need contacting me asking them to call me because i was in need of their.

The final blow was when he decided to come back, we were together for a month then a dear friend of mine passed away. I called him asking him to come home because i needed him and he said that he'd not be coming back, ever.

A month later, Facebook brought to my attention that he was dating a friend of mine, that was the last straw.

If he were as great an actor on stage as he was in real life he'd be winning oscars every year :)

This was 5 yrs ago, and now it doesn't hurt to talk about it so can write it down. Me and ex were together 8, nearly 9 years, married for 5, met at 19. Last few months we were together he was acting weird about his phone. There's this "guy" who seems to be always calling. So one day I took his phone, with his permission (told him I wanted to call up a friend), dialled the guy friend and found out it was a girl. Asked her what was up, she told me to give him up, else her heart would break, which I did, because she sounded like she was pregnant.

Packed my bags and left. And that was 5 years ago. I still see him from time to time when he comes by to pick up our son for the weekend. Found out later, they lasted only few months after our divorce came through.

Guys, remember you love your wife thats why you married her, so stay faithful...or you'll regret losing the one you love the most, so not worth it :))

Okay-we were high school sweethearts.I met him when I was 14 and he was 15. We started dating months later. Our relationship always moved slow. But now that things ended, I realized how he has always slowly tried to pull himself away from me but because he was my first EVERTHING I always put up with alot. Well through many fights and break ups on and off we were together for 6 years.

He broke up with me a month ago. He said I was selfish, immature and spoiled. As much as it does hurt. Why should i give my WHOLE heart to someone who just stomps all over it! LIAR!

So here is our story. We met on a dating website. After meeting him and a few others, I realized he was absolutely normal and just looking for what I was looking for. Anyway, after a month or so, we began dating officially, and he always said stuff like "You're the best," "I definitely want this to be the real deal," etc. Buttttt, eventually after like 3 months, he confessed his previous break ups were screwing him up and he no longer wanted to be with me. When this happened, he was drunk. I went to his place to discuss this stuff that happened and what all he said to me to find out he was completely trashed and didn't know why he said that stuff to me. I told him that was his last chance. We were going strong so I moved in right after Christmas. It was absolutely amazing...until last night. He had his first bottle of Jim Beam in three weeks so he definitely got drunk. After three drinks, he was drunk (which isn't normal for him). His guy friend came over to play beer pong so I had my girl friend come over. She had to go home and then the crap started. He sent me a text (by the way, he was on drink 7 or 8 by now) that said "Idk if we should be together." I'm not much of a drinker. I don't like to lose control of myself. So, I took the text and went to the bedroom. He continued to drink. I told him to get in there and say stuff to me and not through texts. Of course he wouldn't so I told him that I love him and that I know I am good for him and his son. He said "Youre a great girl yeah but I can live without you sorry." Immediately, I packed a bag and left. I don't know why in the world he pulled this stuff, but I am going to move out. He apparently doesn't want to work this out.

When I was a Junior in college, I thought like couldn't get better! I was studying to be a volcanologist in Colorado, I worked part time as a tour guide in the fossils department in the local museum and volunteered at the public library. I was so happy. Then I met HIM. I was salting the side walks of the library in the middle of winter when a man wearing all black walked up to the library doors. All of sudden, he slipped on a thin, sheet of ice, falling flat on his bottom. I hurried over to help him up and I swear, the moment I looked into his eyes, I fell hard. Now I'm not the one to believe in love at first sight, but this man was an exception. He was at the library to meet his girlfriend. Yup, a bit of a dissapointment... But to my surprise, they broke up that day in the library. Since then, he would visit the library whenever I was there and we became close friends. So like fell into love and we were almost inseperable. We dated for about two years. We went through everything together. He was the lead singer in a band and I fulfilled my dream of being able to work with volcanoes. Yeah, I left some to go to different countries, but we were head over heels in love. Then one day, I came back from a trip and caught him in front of MY apartment making out with some redhead. I was FURIOUS! He tried talking to me and telling what all I'VE done wrong. He even said that I DON'T CRY. I said "Oh yeah? Well, boo fucking hoo, jerk." And pushed him out the door.
