When I was 16 I was curious about having a relationship with a boy. Any if possible, although I had some in mind for a while.

He was the friend of my brother, but also a friend in a group at school I was part of. He was nice, treated me like I was normal. I had very low self esteem. No other boy treated me like him.
I chatted a lot with him on MSN. At one point he broke up with his girlfriend and I was kind of eager to match him with someone. I started to like him and wishing I was his girlfriend. He made me feel tingly.
At one point I convinced him to kiss me. And he was very good at it.
We were not a couple at that point. He kept me on a distance, not sure what to do. Mostly because of my brother. The summer was hot and we were getting more involved. We shared many kisses and it was amazing. But still he would not want to be my boyfriend.
I was getting down, but I waited for him.
It was September when he finaly dared to make it official. My brother was kind of let down, but wanted us to be happy so he went along with it.

My relationship was in a nutshell a life changing experience, but not good for me. We had lots of sex, what kept us addicted to eachother. But he was not my match. He wanted to go out a lot, see sports and friends, while I wanted to stay at home, watch movies and such. And there was his toxic mother. In the beginning she was enthusiastic, but later on she didn't saw me as a good daughter in law. She was convinced I was not good for her son. In the end, she was right, but the way she treated me was not right. I felt worse about myself than ever before. But I loved him, so I holded on. Even when we were on a break for a month, I still went back to him. The last year of our relationship was the most miserable one. He made me feel like I was not good enough for him, because I was not myself. He was also right. I wasn't. I left all my hobbies behind and did things I didn't like. Even though he ment I was not his ideal girlfriend, I know now I couldn't match his expectations.
In the end he went out with a girl to a cinema. And that was his trigger to end it.
I was heartbroken and begged him to come back.
But he said he would not.
We met one last time and after that I never spoke to him again.

Now I can say I am grateful he ended it, but healing from this relationship took a long time for me. At first I thought about him daily, at almost every moment, and slowly that became less and less.

I met my husband 3 years later. Right after my lowest point ever. He is my match. Not sure soulmate, but I can't think of anyone more right for me. He is kind, caring, make me laugh and is my best friend. I can share anything with him. But most important: stay myself. I spent time on my hobbies and interests and he not only admires it, but stimulates me. I love him so much and I am grateful to have this other life.

From time to time I sometimes think about my ex. Wondering what my life would have looked like if we didn't broke up. Or what kind of children we would have had. I have a son now, so that is on my mind a lot. Doesn't mean I want to be his, but I just wonder. It doesn't hurt me anymore and I never want to go back.

So this all started from meeting this great guy in a game. I know meeting people usually isn't a great idea especially dating them but that didn't really bother me anymore. I met him in the game and we started talking that day. He told me about himself and I decided to as well. Then a red flag came up. He said he liked this girl...yet asked me out the day we met just to "try it out" and see how far that goes. So of course I accept his proposal. This had to have been the biggest mistake of my life. We started calling later on every week and it would be so awkward, the silence and everything. School was around the corner which was online since the whole pandemic happened. I met this girl and we would start communicating in the meets. I asked if she had discord...and she said yes! So i decided to add her. That day when I added her on discord and on game, we started talking more often. She decided to invite to this group chat in discord which had her best friend, crush, and me. I asked them all if its okay that I add my boyfriend. His name was Lume. I added him and that point on everyone liked him and would talk to him 24/7. He started slowly ignoring me and playing with them more often. Mind you I was very busy at that time and had no time to play. I got really upset and jealous because he would be bffs with the girl that he cheated on me with. We aren't at that point yet so, this day I decided to see what he was playing because he was playing with ash (the girl I met in the meetings). Then I noticed he was playing with everyone. Ashs crush, best friend, and Lume. Mind you I hated her crush. Her crush is the girl the Lume cheated on me with. Her name was Izzy. Izzy and I fought in the group at first due to her flirting with Lume. Yet Lume took her side. Another red flag huh? So I got so pissed I ignored him. We started fighting ect.....then depression hit. Lets get to the point, Ash and Izzy dated then broke up which I found strange. Lume later on in the weeks broke up with me....saying I was manipulated. This was a day that I was in call with him and Izzy!!! She knew the whole plan. He decided to block me so I did it back. I still talked to ash since she talked to Lume and Izzy. I was perfectly fine after the break up, I got over it little by little..then something happened. They started dating. Izzy decided to show pics of Lume kissing her in game or whatever and confessing love to her. I broke down. Of course she liked him too and mind you this was when Lume was dating me and Izzy was dating Ash. They are both fucking cheaters. I tried to ask them and yes we did argue over text and I was going all out, but I didn't give a shit. Lume broke up with her due to cheating on her. Then I started talking with Izzy again for a while and we got along yet it ended. Ash dated her best friend who was transgender to a girl and was straight on lesbian. They broke up too. She apparently didn't give a shit about us since she only wanted attention. She talks to Lume now and I'm pretty sure everyone else is too. I hope Karma gets him. He started dating more girls and they would break up. Hes a cheating bastard and you ladies should never date online especially when you notice red flags. Think twice, now I'm in a happy relationship with someone irl and I'm done with people online.

I met her about 3 and a half years ago online. We soon became friends. She lived in the same city as me and we met once before she moved to Australia. Our friendship continued to grow. We talked frequently but it never turned into anything romantic until 3 years later.
I started to develop a romantic interest in her and thought about proposing her to marry me. That idea solidified in my mind and I finally picked up the courage to ask her. She didn’t say yes right away but few days later she gave a nod.
We continued to talk now even more frequently than before. She made me laugh, I made her laugh. My life became much more exciting and fun. She always messaged me or called first if for some reason there was a communication gap which never lasted more than a day.
Fast forward 4 months into this, she told me that her family was looking to get her married. It didn’t bother me at first but when she told me that she was gonna meet with the guy who her family set up for her, that got me really worried and mad her for not saying no. She was willing to move forward with the marriage potential and I tried to talk her out of it but it didn’t really work. I ended up losing a lot of self respect in my desperate attempt to to stop her. She gave a hundreds of excuses as to why she didn’t wanna say no and at the same time she didn’t give me a clear answer to what she wanted.
This really hurt me because she was the one who pulled me into it. If she didn’t lead me on from the beginning, I wouldn’t have invested my tome and effort into her.
Our last conversation didn’t really end up on a bad note but I sure did lose a lot of attraction she had for me because of me acting weird and desperate.
I decided to never talk to her again and move on with my life. It’s been 2 days and I’m really struggling with my thoughts and emotions but I know I will move on from this.

So there was this guy that my aunty had mentioned she wanted to set me up with and said he was a lovely, good looking boy, kind sweet and that we would be a great match. She had mentioned that we knew each other as kids but I was probably too young to remember. Beside the fact, I said no because it was a really weird idea and I didn't want to meet him that way. However, I did know that he had dated a girl at my school for quite a while but had broken up badly with her. My best friend was also really good friends with him, but never really talked about him much. Then a week passes by and me and my best friend are at a party which she told this guy to meet us at. Me and my friend got separated at the party and he tried getting in contact with her by she wasnt responding. But he somehow knew I was with her and messaged me on facebook, asking if we were still at the party, so I called him (keeping in mind i was almost drunk) and told him where we were. he came with his friends and picked us up and came back to my house around the corner. We were there for a long time, from like 10pm to 3am in the morning. He ended up inviting me to his 18th birthday that was in 2 weeks time and ended up kissing. The next day he has messaged me and asked me out on a date (or so i thought was a date.) We were talking for that week until the date, and had a blast but he didnt seem himself. Then he completely ghosted me and ignored my messages, so I gave up. He ended up messaging me saying that he liked me and didnt want a relationship at the moment, which i completely understood considering the fact that he was turning 18 and just starting to go out clubbing etc. Then i found out he was talking to a girl, not even a week later who he probably was messaging whilst talking to me which made my heart break into pieces because for days I thought i wasn't good enough, or pretty enough or that I was ugly and that it was all my fault. But in reality it was just him being an asshole. He then asked her out a month later, and we saw each other at a dinner, he had asked me if I was talking to any boys, and I told him that it was none of his business because I was just finally getting over him. He was being extremely flirty, and I keep right back in love with him. I asked him if he was talking to any girls and he said no, even though i knew he was. He broke my heart into pieces, and the worst thing is that I still like him, even though he did so many horrible things to me, even made me cry. He is the reason why I dont let boys into my life or heart so easily. Because he broke it and now the only thing that can repair it is time.

I loved him or I just liked his fluffy hair I really have no idea. So when I got home to find a a bouqet of the flowers I'm ALLERGIC to I just walked up the stars in the room and found him in bed reading a book, I grab the book and just say "what nice flowers" he says "thx they are for my mom when she comes over" I yell at him for God knows what reason probably because I love flowers and can't get enough of them and that he made plans without me oh and let's not forget HE IS AN IDIOT. He gets up and asks me what's wrong the thing that is wrong was that he never got me flowers and never spoke to me and only his MOM so I just said see yah loser I'm going to get mmy self some flowers and get a new boyfriend cause mine needs a new brain! With that I was gone and he was just standing there motionless oh and I ripped up the flowers 😂

I was in a serious relationship with a girl for a while. We shared dreams about marriage, having kids, etc.

We were 19 and 1 day over the phone she brought up a "what-if" scenerio. "If I got preganat what would you do with our baby?" I tried to think about it rationally, instead of emotionally. I said if it was early on in the pregnancy I would consider aborting, but if it was further along and I felt I was killing a baby I would def keep it. It depends.

She was mortified by my answer; the idea that I even considered abortion was monstrous to her. I was just trying to have a conversation and she took it out of proportion, imo.

She didnt talk to me for a cpl days till she called me out of the blue to break up, blaming me for not loving her.

In hindsight I wish I answered the question differently, yrs later now having a child and would never consider abortion now that the situation is actually real.

After a cpl weeks of breaking up she found someone else, she has been with him ever since, yrs later.

I def have moved on, but it will always be a regret I always made.

I am a young and lovesick boy, one that thought online dating over a game was a good idea. I thought it was silly and rather joke like at first, until I absolutely fell for a girl. I was in love. I wanted her. I needed her. She felt the same way and eventually we started texting. We had plans of marriage, further romance, college, and so much more. Then one day I had gotten a text from her that said nothing more than, "I'm literally in tears rn...". I said "what's wrong baby?" No reply. "Are you there?" No reply. "Please don't tell me what I think happened happened..." Once more, no reply. I soon got a text message from her mother saying I was forbidden from ever talking to her daughter again. I fell into tears immeadiately. I deleted the game, and am still recovering from it. Please everyone...be careful of what you do on the internet...you may end up very hurt. Thank you for reading my awful breakup story...

Im 16 and I met my first girlfriend at summer camp. She was 15, had short blonde hair and was always really funny and energetic. During one of the dances I asked her to dance during the song Forever Young only because I had heard an offhand rumor that she liked me. I had no idea what it would become. I loved talking to her because we were both really talkative and she never lost interest in my long stories. Over two weeks of summer camp we really grew to like each other. Only one problem, she lived in DC, I lived in vermont. At first i thought long distance was stupid but after two weeks I would do anything to keep her in my life. That lasted 4 1/2 months, I even flew in for a weekend to see her (i dont know how I convinced my parents to pay for that one). During that trip she told me she loved me which was the happiest moment of my life. We talked for hours every night and even during school. She really was my best friend.

Then December 18, 2016 came along. Everything seemed great until she told me she had been talking to one of her friends about our relationship, I thought "eh whatever", then she just stopped snapchating me (which was strange because she would never ever do that without an explanation). Then I looked at me phone 3 hours later and there it was. The breakup text.

In that moment, every bit of happiness drained out of my life. I felt like a shell of a person. It sounds crazy now but at the time I genuinely thought I was gonna go to college with her and we would get married. I didnt ever want to go back to the god awful world of high school dating and I thought I had found my way out for good.

I still sometimes have nightmares about her with another guy even though shes probably dating a girl now (shes bi). I dont stalk her facebook feed because id rather remain blissfully ignorant. Not sure ill ever meet another girl like her.

When I was in university, I went on exchange overseas. Being a shy and quiet girl, I was prepared to spend the 4 months there alone by myself and doing things independently. Perhaps, god loves to spoil your plans because I ended up spending almost all my time with a boy from another country that I met there. I don't usually get along easily with people but somehow we just clicked and I really enjoyed his company. Though it wasn't by any means official, he started treating me the way you would your girlfriend. He sweet-talked me by calling me the "prettiest girl", persuading me to run errands for him, and I started to think something was amiss because it appeared that he was spending all his time when he was not with me, with another girl. I started to be very skeptical and suspicious of him though I had already fallen for him. Soon I noticed that this girl appeared to be runniing the errands he asked me to run for him.
Then she mocked me with him one day and making it very clear that she didn't want him or herself anywhere near me, when I met up with him later that day... He pretended like nothing had happened and even asked me to accompany him one on one to day trips to various tourist destinations. One day, he even asked me out and tried to persuade me into entering a sexual relationship with no strings attached. I was shocked because I was a very good girl who never had a boyfriend and I had never heard of anything like that. He dropped the idea perhaps knowing he had gone too far. I started to plan to dump him.
We had already signed up for two tours together to see some interesting sights so I planned to dump him after the tours. I made up my mind not to have anything to do with him.
It would have ended like that but no, he started messaging me and asking me out again. I told him straight in the face my issues and highlighted to him that "I may like him" because of the way he behaved. He had the cheek to act like he was attracted to me. Staring deeply into my eyes and telling me to "chase him, buy him something"
I obviously would not do that.
He and his other girlfriend were as close as ever and mocking, intentionally avoiding me when together refusing to sit with me in the dining hall.
I decided to try my best to find out what was going on. Was he cheating on, doing things behind my back he knew would hurt me and lying to me? I asked him if he was together with the girl. He denied it vehemently.
Finally, the day when it all ended came. We were friends on MSN and I decided to prank him in a final effort to find out the truth. I mock-pretended that I was truly heartbroken to fool him in hope of him telling me the truth that he had been doing things behind my back. Instead, he replied me by telling me I was never his friend and that he could not be bothered should anything happen to me. He denied that he had said those stuff previously and said that he said some of them to intentionally hurt my feelings. I was outraged!
Recently, I found out he was getting married to that girl. He had been lying, cheating on me outright. I had no buisiness to be his girlfriend, I entered his life wanting to be his friend because we could get along. He was the one who started behaving like I was his girlfriend. He did things behind my back that he knew would hurt me but he still did it. I have no words for such a disgusting jerk.

The girl that I had cared about and loved for a year did not have her priorities straight at all. Apparently she thought that it was okay to ditch me for her friends, even when I had plans with her before them. I just had the vibe that they did not like me and I have no idea why. On top of that, she never followed through with things involving me, such as dedicating her time and effort to me, even though I spent tons on her. What really upset me was that she had the nerve to break up with me. I am a very passive aggressive person and I am well aware of it, and that is the reason why I stuck with her longer than I really wanted to. I always had that harmful and false mindset that things would get better. Her own mother did not even know about our relationship so that should have already been a sign that things weren't gonna work out. And to make matters even better (sarcasm, I really mean worse), she had the nerve to ask to stay friends after all of that. I agreed even though I didn't mean it. It has been almost four months since the break up and I am still waiting for her to follow through with it (not that I care). I guess I should've expected that from someone as immature as that. I am not still stuck on her, it is just I haven't really been venting to my friends about it because most of them go to college out of state so I really only had a couple of friends who I rarely saw to vent to. And this also explains why I still talk about it today and why I am sharing my story online. I am just amazed that someone who I gave 110% to can do something like that to me. To all my guy friends out there: if you are with a girl like the one I was with, do not stand for it, especially if you are passive aggressive like myself. It really isn't healthy to stay with someone who just drags you down and you pretend like it is okay, when it really isn't.
