My (ex)boyfriend just dumped me. We were high school sweet hearts but my parents messy divorce made me snap and end it but we tried it again in college. Everything was going great and we were so in love until he started using steriods for a body building competition. Things got bad bc roid rage is real and I hated it when he smoked bc he would try to hide it from me but obviously boys can't keep secrets for their lives. We were off and on and then he gave me a promise ring and promised a future and that he wouldn't do anything to lose me again (steriods and weed specifically). 2 months later and he asked to get back on steroids and resented me for not wanting him to smoke. He couldn't commit anymore because of his body building competition coming up in a few months and he "needed" the roids. He dumped the most loving girl, faithful girl, and supportive girl for drugs.
Lessons learned:
Boys don't change
Love doesn't fix problems
Don't date a body builder(the body is not worth it!!!!)

I went on a date with a guy that I liked. He was handsome and very nice, to me. But as soon as I got to know the dark side of him, I started to dislike him more. He was nice to me and he was flirting with other girls. And he was a bad boy. I heard that he was selling drugs and other stuff to random people. And when I asked him about it, he said that he used to do stuff like that in the past. But he lied! He still does it. My brother found out that I was together with him and he got mad. Because he didn't like it and he thought I was too young to have a boyfriend! I broke up with the guy, and he got really upset about it. He didn't understand why. And he got very angry at me and I didn't like it. After some weeks I got over him, but he said that he was never going to get over me. And I'm like " yeah, well I am all over you so I don't give a fuck" We are friends now, but in the past few weeks I have been falling for his best friend! And that is not good! I like him a lot! He is a really good guy, better than my ex. And he likes me too. But we can't be together, because my ex would be so jealous and angry! Because his ex girlfriend is together with his best friend?! That's not cool... So I don't know what to do

I’m writing today to discuss how my ex broke up with me. I want to start of by saying, I have made a video. It is very lengthy, but it discusses bullying and domestic abuse in it. I show my personal relationship, and why I should have left it because of how much pain it caused in the long run. If you know anybody out there that is a victim of domestic abuse, please show them this video. https://youtu.be/cia0a-AczXs So, I met a girl online. I drove 50 miles to meet her. She had never had a boyfriend before, so I became her first. She grew up in a very abusive household. Eventually the way her dad treated me is how she would treat me verbally. I lived in the abuse because I loved her, and she would always break down and say she was sorry. Eventually things would get so bad she would split from me. Now, she does drugs, heavy drinking, and one night stands. She told me how much better her one night stand within an hour of meeting a guy, was better than I ever was. I gave her a ring the night she lost her innocence, and it hurts for her to say that. She called me derogatory names, etc. Do I love her, yes. And I know she is only following a cycle by an abusive father that has hit and choked her, but I should have left the relationship when she first started putting me down. I am a guy that has been bullied and abused a lot in life. Partly because I have dog scars on my face, and she did call me ugly and things like that for it. She was always aggressive and wanted to fight people. She beat up one grandma where she was detained for it, and almost got into a fight with her roommate at college where the roommate was put with another girl and she was left to be alone. If you know someone that loves a self destructive person, and you want them to understand they have to leave them, watch this video. https://youtu.be/cia0a-AczXs

As long as I can remember I belive my personality said more about myself rather than my appearance.  Growing up what ever style it was, weather "grundge", "punk" or "gangster" my only real feature that stood out was my red hair. Though I wouldn't alow these styles to define me as a person I often felt predgism. This feeling often played a part in choices and morality as I grew up to never judge a book by its cover, and try to veiw things logic ly from Nemours perspectives. This led me to having a lot of friends from very diferent walks of life. This is the story of my last relationship spanning three years, from the time I met and fell in love with her at first sight, to my life right now, falling apart and absoltly hating myself. I am an asshole.

For some time, at the age of 23, I had been struggling with my housing situation. I was a first year heavy duity mechanic with two years experiance working maintenance for a pretty large transportation company in an oil city. Growing up here my entire life had given me at a young age a veiw into the world of drugs, gluttony, and a lot of narrow minded people just trying to stay busy and get by. During this time, the geting by was alright. The economy was booming and at this time were you to leave your job three more opertunity opened up. The realy problem at this point where the housing situation made it dificult was juggling my job and dealing with a series of drug addicted roomates. One of witch during the 2012 incident was telling me how he was goig to eat me. After that moved in with a friend growing up from high schools familie. Let's just say there was a series of murders going on with a particular gang that growing up i was affiliated through.  That was a unsafe fucked up situation I don't wish to discuss to much about Friends dieing and going to jail. This made me become more distant from more and more friends and focusing on my career.
Eventually, after some time couch serfing and sleepig in my car I had moved in with a two co workers. It was a old and small house, but it was nice. It was me and a coworker up stairs. My room was pink. Another country worker and his lesbian cousin and her other down stairs. With all that said, this is the setting of my tale. Where I first met her.
My roomate had started going through a dark period after his girlfriend had left him because he relapsed on meth. His down ward spiral kept geting worce and worce. Living with a meth head is the most unpleasant living I had delt with. Money, belonging, go missing, weird people come over. Mood swings. To cope with it I had began drinking more. Eventually he had lost his job and there was little I wouldn't do to get out of the house and meet new people. After one night at the bar I get back home fairly early. Being drunk and hearing music from un known origin I begin to follow it into the basement.  My down stairs roomates were having a few drinks and the girl I was in love with is there.
My first words to her were, " Oh your friends with those two? Are you a lesbian as well, because I think your cute."
She wasn't a lesbian. She was queer. Not that I realy understood much of that at the time. We ended up making out and I drove her to work the next day. I latter find out she had recently decided to transition into a man and begin her hormones. I was pretty sad that this girl who I just met that I already had feelings for was undergoing a change that wouldnt lead anywhere for us.
Regardless of where we both stood about my feeling we began hanging out. And for a time, a beautifle friendship blossomed. She inspired me to be myself, not let others take advantage of me, to stick up for myself have faith in making the right choices to better myself. I soon moved out of the house and got a small town house with my best friend growing up. For a time things seemed pretty good. How ever, I knew this girl I was already in love with and knew things how they were wouldn't last forever... nothing good lasts for ever, and once again things would get rocky. this is the end of part one.

Helped him with depression, been with him for 3 years. He dumped me, because "we have nothing in common", especially I don't want to take drugs with him. FML.

I met this guy three years ago through friends and it seemed to go really well. We were both in high school and the first year was lovely with us going on adventures and going on dates. However, during the first year of college, he turned incredibly immature (he had failed his GCSE's and I had just started A Levels), stopped making an effort with me and there were rumours he had cheated on me. We broke up for 2 weeks but I was stupid to take him back after he begged me that he missed me.
The next two years sucked. I would put in all of the effort into the relationship whilst he spent all of his money on cigarettes and spent his time playing video games. I felt trapped and lonely.
Recently I started university and he is still stuck at college. As all of his decent friends are at university or working, he started to become friends with some very dodgy people (known to do drugs and commit crimes). He started to get close with a lot of girls and it became obvious he was cheating on me when he suggested we go on a break. I ended it after receiving a text from him saying he was sleeping with another girl and yesterday we gave each others things back (three years worth of his things given back to him in two bin bags). He had hickeys all over his neck and random girls kept calling him whilst he was saying we should remain friends.
I know I deserve a lot better than him and I'm going to try and focus on my degree and find someone who will make an effort with me. It's just that it is hard to move on from three years of confusion, bittersweet memories and him in my life.

We met at a meltdown in the desert, a camp where people just sit around and do drugs and get creative. One of the first things I noticed was that he was really easy to talk to.

After the trip, he asked me out on a date. Things progressed too quickly -- by the third date, he was saying he was in love with me. I didn't really mind, it was cool to meet someone who seemed really sure of what he wanted (that's what I told myself).

There were a lot of red flags, but I'm a procrastinator and I like to enjoy the ride until the car breaks down. Three months in, he wasn't as nice to talk to as I thought.

After I broke up with him, he left an apologetic voice mail. It made me have second thoughts and when I called him back to ask if he wanted a compromise-- he turned it around to make it seem like he didn't care, and that he was breaking up with me. That's fine-- he can have the upperhand, but I was just sad he would say something like that to hurt me. I'm glad I called back, it made it really clear I shouldn't have been with him.

Suddenly, all the dialogue in our past conversations became transparent-- his intentions with his words and actions were to always assert dominance.

Maybe it was because he was bullied so much when he was a kid. Maybe it was because he grew up really poor and now was trying to pass off as a sophisticated cosmopolitan. He would always brag about how he had the best taste in food, art and culture. It was cringeworthy at times-- a borderline charlatan.

Good bye dudie, I hardly knew ye.

Me and my ex were together for 4 years. Last year he got into drugs. It ruined our relationship. He lied, stole and cheated.
When we first got together I had just gotten out of a relationship and he was in a bad one. We leaned on each other for comfort and ended up falling in love. I felt we had the perfect relationship. It was us against the world. We brought a beautiful child into the world and had the perfect happy family.
The stuff he has done to me while on drugs is unthinkable. The person I fell in love with was sweet, understanding, funny, considerate, everything I wanted out of a partner.
For 3 weeks prior to our breakup he got clean. It was great. I felt like we were falling in love all over again. Things were happy and he was being a wonderful father again. Then he left for the store that one faitful day and did not come back. He gave me some excuse about being kidnapped by old druggie friends. Came back the next day with my car wrecked and a girl. He stopped coming home after that and finally 4 days later I had enough and I packed up me and my son's stuff and moved out. Apparently that girl moved in the same day I left and they were together since then.
In the following 2 months he turned our family home into a drug house, went on leave from his job, totalled his car, and ended up in jail, oh and lost our home because he was jailed.
A couple of days into his jail stint we talked on the phone and he cried and appologized for everything he had done. We kinda reconciled but a week after he got released he started lying to me about texting someone. He got really defensive about who he was talking to just like he would do to me when he was doing drugs. He wont stop lying and I do not think I can get over the pain he has caused me and my son. He used to be wonderful and now he is the complete opposite. I am at a crossroads with our relationship and not sure what to do. My gut instinct tells me to run screaming into the hills and my heart is saying work it out with him.

My boyfriend of six years broke up with me valentines day. Completely outta the blue I wake up that morning to a text by him saying that he doesn't know what to tell me bout our plans for that day cause he met a girl hes ''been talking to" and she takes up all his time now and he has no use for me now. He told me get lost. It was the most brutal heartbreak I ever felt. We'd spent the three days prior to that together and talking bout what kinda things we'd like to do together in life. He'd told me we were meant for each other the very night before...and to do it on valentines day was the cruelest thing. He wouldn't answer his phone or texts that day. The next day he texted he wanted to talk and see me. I said no. Two days of continually asking me I finally agreed. He sat right in front of me at my kitchen table and told me he was confused and didn't know whAt he wanted and that the new gf wasn't even really his gf yet. He basically buttered me up with compliments and I believed him like a fool. The very next day he invited himself over started acting like a complete jerk by texting her continuously and then saying after 45 min into our dinner date that he was done and he had to take me home cause he had somewhere to. I said whats wrong with you I don't understand. He went crazy yelling and screaming for me to get the hell out of his car and that he hates me and not to invite him over again. I said are you on drugs or something cause you invited yourself. He drew his fist back at me like to punch me and I started to cry cause I'd never seen anything like this ever. He had instantly changed. He threw his coke on me as I got out the car and was pushing on me to get out making me fall. I was completely freaked out. This was not the same guy I'd Been with for the last six years of my life which now feel completely wasted. This was like something out of a scary movie. I'm completely devastated and don't know what to do or why this is happening. I think maybe he is on drugs cause I've discovered he's been taking some of my prescriptions from my purse here in the last two months. It's only thing I can think of. . I also was told by him that he'd ran his car into a ditch drunk with a few of his new friends in the car with him the night before he came over the first day we talked. He said they'd been celebrating his buddy's 21st bday and that this particular friend who I've tried to invite to do things with us and to bring along his gf, well I got told that friend doesn't like me so that's why I'm getting dumped. Please if anybody on here can possibly relate or just tell me anything,to help this terrible thing I'm going through I would very much appreciate your advice or comments. Thanks
